Join Nielsen Homescan Panel

New openings may be available in your area to apply for Nielsen's Homescan Consumer Panel. I've heard from my readers who are active in this program, and many find it a rewarding and easy way to earn free merchandise. Opportunities are limited based on where you live (they aren't recruiting new households in my area) but I encourage you to apply to find out if there are openings in your area.

Here's what one of my readers, Geraldine, said about it:

"We have been doing this for several years now & you can't imagine how quickly the points add up. Last summer, we got a sand & water table for the grandkids, shipped to our door completely free! This is the large one that retails for $80-90 everywhere. The kids love it & the price was perfect! I have several thousand points now, just waiting patiently for a nice Christmas gift for the grandkids this year. If at all possible, you definitely should try this. It's fun & you get incredible free stuff!"

Please be aware that this can be time-consuming as you have to scan all of your purchases, so it is certainly not something that everyone would be willing or able to do. But since I've gotten positive feedback from several readers I thought it would be worth sharing with you.

I'm listing it my "Money 4 Mom" series because I consider it an opportunity to earn things of a higher value than you normally would in a word-of-mouth program. But it is also a way to share your opinion and be rewarded for providing data for consumer research.

Who is Nielsen? A well-known marketing company that produces the TV ratings, and they also are known for sending people cash in the mail in hopes they'll complete a short survey about their TV viewing habits. Nielsen also named me as a 2009 Power Mom, a list of 50 influential mom bloggers. It's quite an honor for me to have made that list!

You'll find more useful resources in my Money 4 Mom series where I've shared how you can make money by blogging, working online, doing in-person market research, taking surveys, participating in University studies, selling on eBay, and even viewing YouData ads on my blog. I hope you find this series a useful resource if you are looking for sources of extra income.

Vocalpoint Mails You Freebies

One of my favorite word-of-mouth free sampling programs, I recommend you join Vocalpoint. They love to mail free samples to their members, have high-value printable coupons available for members, and even offer special free samples for members to request. What's the catch? That's the greatest part - there is no catch! They hope that you'll tell your friends about the products you're sampling with them, and that you'll share the extra coupons they mail you. But there is no reporting requirement in order to get freebies from Vocalpoint.

Let me know if you have any questions about this program by Procter & Gamble and feel free to browse some of the previous Vocalpoint freebies and coupons I've posted to give you a feel for what fun free stuff is yet to come.

50 Free Photo Cards FAQs

Questions are rolling in about the 50 free single-sided 4x8 or 5x7 photo cards including free shipping using the coupon code freebies4mom-1109 at SeeHere by Fujifilm. So here are some answers:

Q: I can't see the card design I selected on the "canvas" to add my photos to - what am I doing wrong?
A: Try using Firefox as your browser, I've heard that readers are having better luck using it as their browser when they're designing their card with SeeHere. Firefox is the web browser I recommend using, it's free to download here and free to use.

Q: When I entered the coupon code it said it was invalid.
A: This great promotion has attracted tons of traffic on the SeeHere site so that means they are working to correct technical problems which may be occurring. So you need to try again at a different time - late evening and early morning are best when there are less people accessing the site at the same time. Don't give up, just try again later.

Here are a few other tips thanks to my readers:
* Try typing in the code instead of copying & pasting it
* Alternative I've had a few readers say that typing in the code didn't work, but copying & pasting did (so try that too)
* Be sure to order 50 cards (can be 1 design or several, but the total number needs to be 50)
* Instead of clicking "submit" with your mouse, use the "Tab" key and the "Enter" key.

Q: How long is this offer good for? Is there any limit?
A: This offer is good until Monday, November 30. The only limit is one free photo card order per customer.

Q: This is amazing. Is there any catch? Like the code only works for the first 50 people?

A: No catch, just a great offer from a great company. I'm an affiliate for SeeHere and they want my readers to experience their photo services first-hand (for free). Offering a freebie like this is a great way for them to get exposure by letting you try their photo cards for free.

Q: Do the 50 free photo cards all have to be the same design?
A: No, you can order more than one photo card design and you'll get 50 free photo cards total (whether it's one design or five designs). You can design any card you want to - holiday, announcement, thank you.

Q: How do you resize a photo after you add it to your photo card background?
When you click on the photo that you've placed on your photo card you will see a green frame around it. See those little circles in each corner? Click and drag that corner to change the size of your photo.

Q: Does anyone know if you can order multiple sets per address? I live with my parents and didn't know if I could take advantage of the offer and my mom could too.
A: You should be able to place one order per customer. So if you have an account and someone else in your household has an account, you can both get 50 free photo cards.

Q: I made my card and it all worked out but I still haven't received an email from them saying that they got my order?
A: You should receive an email confirming your order, but if you don't you need to check "My Account" (top menu) and then click on "View Order History". Contact SeeHere (click on "Contact" at top right) if you still don't see your order. It's possible that due to technical problems caused by high traffic, your order was not received.

Q: Is the free shipping offer on those 50 free photo cards available for Hawaii?
A: Yes, the free shipping offer also applies to Hawaii.

Q: Do you know if you order the 5X7 cards, if that only takes one stamp too?
A: You can mail 5x7 envelopes with a 44 cent stamp as long as you your envelope and contents weigh 1 ounce or less.

Q: Is this offer available for Canada?
A: No, it's only available for U.S. addresses.

Thanks for Your Thanks
I really appreciate all of the comments I've received thanking me and SeeHere. I also appreciate the feedback about your questions and problems encountered because it helped me put together this FAQ post. If you want to thank me back you can share this free photo card offer with friends. Seriously, the best way to thank me is to help spread the word about all the free stuff you're getting thanks to Freebies 4 Mom.

LeapFrog Alphabet Pal $0.49 at Target

Sorry, this deal was too hot for Target and they revised Target's Price Matching Policy to state they will not price-match advertised deals like this one unless they are for an entire week. Keep reading your ads, but only try to price-match the regular week-long ads.

Here's how Kristine got this LeapFrog Alphabet Pal toy for only $0.49 at Target by matching a competitor's advertised price, and using a printable target toy coupon.

Kristine said: "Target has these priced at $19.89. Toys R Us has these in their Door Busters Ad for Friday (today) and Saturday only for $10.49. I took the ad into Target today and was honored the price match of $10.49 ALSO Target has an active coupon (both online and in the Big Toy Book) for $10.00 off the Leapster Alphabet Pal (look on pg. 3 of coupons). I bought 2, at $10.49 each minus the 2 $10.00 off coupons and my total price for the entire transaction was $1.06!!!! This is just WAY TOO GOOD of a deal not to share with the rest of the Mom's out there trying to save a little money on Holiday Shopping!! Keep in mind, this is for TODAY and TOMORROW ONLY!!!"

Thanks for emailing me the great deal you got, Kristine! This is a great example of how it pays to read your ads. Both Target and Walmart will price-match competitor's advertised prices on the exact same item. Browse all the Target Toy Coupons and see what other deals you can create.
